Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon

The work of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, which began in Buckhannon, West Virginia, in 1921 with the formation of St. Joseph’s Hospital, continues with the creation of the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon. The Sisters, through their sponsorship of the Foundation, are ensuring a continuum of care and outreach to the community they have served for so long and with such dedication for many years to come.

Established in 2015, the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon's vision is that communities in Buckhannon and surrounding areas will maintain healthy lives – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Foundation's mission is to support initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and transformative change in the community.

The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon partners with nonprofit organizations that have the potential to inspire healthier choices for communities in Barbour, Lewis, Randolph, Upshur, and Webster counties in West Virginia.

The Foundation has established three major focus areas for its Core Priorities Initiative and three broader focus areas for its Healthy Communities Initiative.

Core Priorities:

Food Insecurity

Substance Use Disorder

Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation

Healthy Communities:

Health and Wellness

Capacity Building

Spiritual and Pastoral Care
