Today, our lives are increasingly challenged by the economic, social, psychological, and physical realities of the world in which we live. These challenges can lead to struggles with issues such as hunger and substance use – issues that threaten the healthy balance of life for children and adults in our community.
The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon believes that while there are many health challenges in our community, three of the most pressing areas of need are food insecurity, substance use disorder, and tobacco use prevention and cessation. For that reason, the Foundation has chosen these issues as areas that demand our focused attention and support.
Within our Core Priorities of Food Insecurity, Substance Use Disorder, and Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation, our Foundation supports health programs and services in our communities that address a wide range of project options including, but not limited to:
- Backpack Food Distribution
- Vaping Curriculum in Schools
- Medically Tailored Food Boxes
- Education Services for Individuals in Recovery
